Please help! meaning of an old, rare name?

when our daughter was born, my husband found the Old German name "Kadus", in a book, with the meaning strength,beauty, nobility (the basic gist of it). For years, we've been searching for the full definition of it, so we could frame it for her. Does anybody know any information on the name, or a phone number I can call (from Canada) that could help?
