Why do my eyes bulge out?

For some reason both my eyes bulge out particularly from the side you can tell they bulge further then most other peoples. I also have reasonably large/drooping eyelids which cuts out a thyroid problem? Are there any other conditions that cause this? No one i know in my family has this is it just genetics or do i have some kind of problem?
